While not directly related to "Southland" heres some news from the modifiedsprint divisions current status. Appropriately enough Ruapuna has put it's 2010/11 season on hold due to the recent devastating earthquake - there were two meetings remaining on the calendar - and both clashed with meetings at Riverside Speedway. news has recently come through that Ruapuna will be holding one more meeting for the season - tentatively set down for April 9. This meeting will host the last round of the Christchurch modifiedsprint club champs, and may also host the "Canterbury champs" for the class (this has yet to be discussed with Ruapuna promotions....hopefully this will allow some of the Southland crew to make the trip North to contest a title. www.modifiedsprints.co.nz has had a somewhat late update to include a wrap up from the "Southland Champs" meeting held at Riverside Speedway on Feb 20......we are hopeful of including more info from the deep south in future updates. Thanks to Bradley May (Modifiedsprint 75i) for sending a message of support after Christchurch's 6.3 quake - it's great to see the support of the "speedway family" coming through in such a tough time Cheers, Chris Mackenzie (Christchurch Modifiedsprint Club)
