Central Motor Speedways Daryl Ainsley in the 5t Hypermac Mustang, has gone on to impress even further, with a win at the South Island Saloon title held on the 19th March 2011 in Blenhiem. Ainsley was said to be stoked that he was finally able to bag a big one, after a piece of bad luck seen him crash out of the New Zealand title in Wellingotn a few weeks back. Ainsley was taken out by a South Islander, after he was well on track to grab one of the hotly contested NZ numbers. Ainsely has invested a large amount of time and money into the campaign after hitting the speedway circuit just 2 seasons ago. He has gone from strength to strength and after getting into the seat of the Hyper Mac Mustang, he has put himself in the position of one of the best drivers in the country in just his second season. Many of the of the "old heads" of Saloon racing have also stood up and taken notice. Ainsley was voted Saloon Driver of the Year at the annual Speedway NZ Awards last season, and this set him up for what was to be a very good season. From a 1st at the Canterbury Champs, to a hard fought DHL Interislander Sallon Series, and then on to the top spot at the South Islands, its safe to say that this man is destined for bigger and better things. And The Pits and its readers will be right behind him!!! Congrats to Mr Ainsley, and well look forward to see what your next move is
